Another highlight of our time on the Island was a trip to Botanical Beach.
Just as we started the walk down to the beach, a friendly couple gave us the tip that a couple of Gray whales were putting on quite the show near one particular outcropping. We hustled down worried about missing such an amazing opportunity and were delighted to enjoy watching the whales feeding/hunting in the area for a long period of time - long enough that certain 4 year olds got bored!
Sadly, with our limited cameras, we weren't able to get any clear pictures but the experience definitely left an impression.
We spent that night at China Beach PP, finishing dinner in time to make the hike down to the beach to watch the beautiful sunset (and quickly back up the 200 stairs before it got too dark to find our site again!).
