After getting the van back in working order, we took our leave in the afternoon and made the short drive to Monck PP located just outside of Merritt BC (the country music capital of Canada apparently).
Monck was a gorgeous park located in a ponderosa pine forest right beside deep, cold Nicola Lake.
The name Nicola is apparently a phonetic mispronunciation for the Interior Salish chieftain Hwistesmetxquen (yes, that is the correct spelling).
