Leaving east side of the Island, we made our way across to west side, through the giant old growth forest of Cathedral Grove and the winding route into Tofino/Ucluelet.
Taking another chance on online reviews, we booked a site at the recently-opened Wya Beach Campground. Though the drive into the camping area was a somewhat nerve-wracking narrow and pot-hole filled trip (poor low-slung van), it was well worth it to be able to sleep hearing the waves/rain and smelling the salt air/damp rainforest. We'd love to come back to Wya and stay in one of their beachside yurts.
