The last of the Roadtreks to leave in the morning (we enjoy a leisurely wake-up), we checked out historical downtown Olympia (state capitol known and Riot Grrr ground zero) and drove towards Ocean City via Aberdeen (town motto: "Come As You Are").
Although difficult, we managed to resist the compulsion to pay a visit to the sparkling vampires of Forks.
At Ocean City SP, we got to experience a few firsts: first time flying our new kite, first toes dipped in the American Pacific, first "do you know Joe from Toronto" moment and the first time we'd ever seen a car driven on a beach (in Washington State, beaches are considered highways apparently... who knew?).
