Porteau Cove PP to Larrabee SP (WA)

It took us over an hour waiting in line to even get to the border at the Peace Arch (after a quick rest stop break and last minute medical insurance purchase) but apparently all our prayers and ritual sacrifices to the gods of strip-searches paid off because our crossing was quick and painless.

It also could have been the screaming baby.

Our first stop in the US was a Target to pick up roadtrip essentials like Wet Ones, a cheap US cellphone and some awesome cheese.

After shopping we made the quick drive to Larrabee State Park. Chosen chiefly for it's close proximity to the border, Larrabee turned out to be located in a beautiful coastal rainforest surrounded by places with cool names like Whatcom, Samish and Chuckanut. Larrabee also the distinction of being the oldest state park in Washington as well as providing an amazing view of the sunset.
