To recap: we spent the previous night broken down in a Canadian Tire (aka "Aching Tire" according to B) parking lot in Saskatoon.
In the morning, after crossing our fingers and putting our keys in the automotive drop box (Canadian Tire service department was closed Canada Day), we packed up our best luggage (Ikea bags for the win!) and decamped to a nearby hotel which possessed air conditioning, a pool with a water slide and a "free" "continental" breakfast. We had big plans to try to make it downtown for the fireworks but the lack of wheels combined with the heat and the allure of the pool (and cable TV) kept us near the hotel for most of the day.
The girls seemed ok with the arrangement.
